You know that feeling when you stumble upon something that makes you feel connected to the past? That’s exactly what happened to me when I saw that iconic 1954 photo of Marilyn Monroe posing with a golf club on the Banff Springs Golf Course. There she was, Hollywood’s golden girl, looking glamorous as ever on the same course where I played today.
I couldn’t resist. I had my teammate snap a picture of me trying to recreate Marilyn’s pose. Let me tell you, it’s not as easy as she made it look!
It got me thinking about how golf has changed since Marilyn’s day, and how it’s stayed the same. Sure, our clubs are fancier now, and our outfits are (thankfully) more comfortable. But that feeling of belonging on the course? That’s timeless.
That’s why I’m so excited about Swingrip – it’s about making golf more inclusive. Swingrip adaptive golf glove helps people feel like they belong in the game, no matter what grip challenges they might face.
Looking at my photo next to Marilyn’s, I can’t help but smile. We’re both part of the same story – the ongoing tale of people finding joy, challenge, and community in this wonderful game. Whether you’re a Hollywood icon from the past or just a regular golfer like me, there’s a place for you on the course.
So here’s to all of us who’ve found a home in golf, and to the innovations that keep us playing. May your swings be smooth, your drives be long, and your love for the game never fade!
